Bordeaux
Een estuarium met eb en vloed en handelsvloten bouwden de reputatie op van een streek waarvan de geklasseerde chateaus nog altijd de fijne rode wijn bepalen.
Bordeaux telt ongeveer 600 wijnhuizen om te bezoeken. Tot de herkomstbenamingen behoren Margaux, Haut-Médoc, Bordeaux en Saint-Émilion. Kenmerkende druiven zijn Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc en Petit Verdot.
