Slovenia
Slovenian winemakers helped revive the ancient practice of skin contact winemaking, aging white grapes like ribolla gialla on their skins until they turn amber, a style now copied far beyond its home in Brda and the Vipava valley. Three distinct winegrowing areas, from the Adriatic influenced west to the Pannonian plains in the east, give the country a striking range of styles for such compact territory. Vinopanorama already features more than 70 Slovenian wineries and wine estates, many rooted in family cellars open for tastings.
