Wine growing returned to Denmark only in recent decades, after commercial vineyards became legal in the early 2000s, making it one of Europe's youngest wine nations. Cool coastal conditions favor hardy varieties such as solaris and rondo, grown on small holdings scattered from Zealand to Funen. Vinopanorama already lists more than 100 Danish wineries and wine estates, many open for tastings and cellar visits by appointment.
