Herbstnebel zieht über die Hügel der Langhe, jener Nebel, dem der Nebbiolo seinen Namen verdanken soll, in einer dem Barolo gewidmeten Landschaft.
Piemonte bietet rund 150 Weingüter zum Besuchen. Zu den Appellationen zählen Barolo, Barbera d'Asti, Barbera d'Alba und Langhe. Charakteristische Rebsorten sind Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto und Moscato.
